a great rock once climbed together
a small boat once boarded together

roads once walked side by side
Walking, walking—

we drifted apart
“Together”
became the past

These pasts
 were captured by a camera
Can ears that can move
 still hear the sound of the sea?
Perhaps those ears
 have a door of their own
gently closed long ago letting no sound in

Just as love arrives
 without a sound

and leaves
 without a sound —

like ears that can move
 have grown tired.
